Mission
Statement
The parish of St Thomas the Apostle is a community where:
- we belong together and care for each other
- we minister to each other and share responsibility
- we and our children grow into whole and happy
people
- a little bit of God's kingdom exists
In other words, the parish is one of the few places
where the most important questions in life, the very questions privatised
in our contemporary culture, can be asked and acknowledged publicly. Who
am I? What does it mean to be a human person? What can we hope for? It
is
one of the few places that acknowledges and addresses people in the fullness
of their personhood, one of the few places that respond to the spiritual
hunger in the human person. The parish recognises the person as spirit.
It offers people, in and through the gospel, a way of exploring their spiritual
journey and satisfying their spiritual hunger. |
