SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT

To celebrate World Day of Prayer a Service prepared by the women of Cameroon will take place in St. Brigid’s, (Church of Ireland) Castleknock at 8pm on Friday next 5th March.  Men and women welcome.

FLAVOUR  OF  I.T.B.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown a group of staff and students got together on a voluntary basis to produce a cookboook called the ‘Flavour of ITB’.  The proceeds of the book will go to the new St. Francis Hospice and the Laura Lynn Foundation.  Copies of the book are available from the Parish Office and the cost is €10 per book.

One of our parishioners, Eoin Lysaght, is a transition year student in Belvedere College.  He and 55 fellow students are embarking on a ‘block pull’ from Dublin to Galway in June in aid of Temple Street Childrens’ Universty Hospital and Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.  Eoin and his friends are holding a churchgate collection after all Masses this weekend and they would be very grateful for your support.

A number of programmes are available at the Emmaus Retreat Centre in Swords during March.  See list on Church Notice Boards.

Pieta House Darkness into Light 5k Event
Pieta House ‘Darkness into Light 5k Event’ will take place on Saturday, 8th May in two venues – The Phoenix Park and University of Limerick.  Participants will be invited to walk or run the 5k route, starting whilst it is still dark and completing the circuit as dawn is breaking.  This will be a symbolic event to give hope to those affected by Suicide and Self-Harm.  Contact Marie Peelo at 01-4130211 or email mariep@marchmont.com for registration details.

‘Dress to Impress’ with the Trinity Business Alumni Charity Fashion Show on Saturday, 6th March in the Mansion House at 8p.m. Entertainment will be provided by the Dublin Gospel Choir and the hosts for the night will be Eddie Hobbs and Kathryn Thomas. Proceeds in aid of RESPECT the Daughters of Charity on the Navan Road who look after people with intellectual disabilities of all ages in the Dublin area. Tickets €50 with a complimentary drinks reception on arrival. Email info@tba.ie for tickets or more information.

Lenten Prayer Evenings
On each Tuesday eveniong of Lent starting Tuesday 16th Feb., to 30th March - Manresa, the Jesuit Centre of Sprirtuality in Dollymount, Dublin 3, will be offering short periods of guided prayer.

Console - the Suicide Bereavement and Prevention Support organisation are holding a National Bag Packing Day on Saturday 20th March in Dunnes Stores Blanchardstown Centre and are looking for volunteers. If you can spare an hour please contact Ciaran Tighe on 6102638 or email ciaran@console.ie

The Saturday 6.30 Folk Group are looking for singers, musicians and sound technicians!  If you are 12 or over and are interested in becoming involved please contact Marie King on 087-2415603 or leave your name and contact details in the sacristy and we will get back to you.  Practice is every Saturday at 5pm in the church.
