CHRISTMAS PASTORAL OFFERINGS (DUES)
An envelope containing the Christmas Schedule of all Masses and Ceremonies has been distributed to all the homes in the parish. Thank you to those who have already contributed. Thanks also to the Collectors – your enthusiasm and hard work is very much appreciated. (Spare envelopes containing the Christmas Schedule are available at the back of the church).

Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The annual indoor Church Collection last weekend amounted to €13,910. Thank you for your generosity.

The Castleknock Parish Choir (together with soloists and guests) will present a Concert of Carols and other Seasonal Music in the Parish Church, Beechpark Ave., this Sunday 19th Dec. at 8p.m. Proceeds to the Dublin 15 Hospice Fund.

Pardon Sunday Rite 11 – Next Weekend.
We will have a number of priests at all Masses, so please – bring a friend!

Children preparing for Pardon Sunday
During next week the children of 4th, 5th and 6th classes will come to church for a Reconciliation Service and Mass. (Grand)parents and guardians are most welcome to join them. Keep an eye on their school diary. The children of 3rd class will receive the Sacrament of Forgiveness on Tuesday.

Ecumenical Prayer Service – Welcome home
Scripture reading, reflection, prayer and song on the theme of the coming of Christ to our inner home. Prepared by parishioners and Cana. Thursday, Dec. 16 @ 8pm in the Day Chapel. With some time for sharing over a cuppa afterwards.

CHRISTMAS PASTORAL OFFERINGS (DUES)

If by any chance you do not receive one or are not from this parish but would like to know the times of our Christmas Masses & Ceremonies please take a Pastoral Offering Envelope from the table at the back of the church.

We would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all the children who took part in the ‘Heart to Hand’ – Children Helping Children food appeal last weekend.

The Dublin 15 Hospice Committee would like to express their sincere thanks to Mr. Des O’Donnell, husband of the late Marion O’Donnell, his work colleagues, relatives and friends for their most generous contribution of €1,l01.70 towards the Hospice Fund.

ART EXHIBITION
Thanks to all who supported last week’s Art Exhibition. €16,000 was raised and all proceeds have gone to the Hospice Fund. Again, many thanks for your support.

Thanks also to the Castleknock Ladies Golf Society for their donation of €5,000 towards the Hospice Fund.

First Sunday of Advent

This Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent – the beginning of the church year – a time for renewal and reflection. Try to keep Christ in Christmas. Use Advent to refocus – to get priorities right – especially with the children.

First Friday
Friday next is the First Friday. There will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following the 10 o’clock Mass until 12noon.

ISANDS (Irish Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society)
Christmas Service of Remembrance in St. Nicholas of Myra Church, Francis Street, Dublin on the 5th December at 7.30p.m. All welcome.

‘HEART TO HAND’ - Children Helping Children
Next weekend, instead of holding our annual Toy Sunday, we have been requested to donate non-perishable foodstuffs for disadvantaged children and their families. Of course the usual format will prevail where the children of the parish will continue to come up to the altar with their gifts at all Masses. Thank you.

St. Francis Hospice Dublin 15/Northwest
The Calendar Sales Team would like to express their sincere Thanks for the incredible generosity of all who bought calendars and contributed to the Hospice cause. An amount of €6,500 was received.

The Dublin West Group of Amnesty International will distribute leaflets this weekend asking you to write a brief message on a Christmas card and send it to a person who is unjustly imprisoned in some part of the world. Such a greeting can give great hope to a person in anguish.

The 8.00p.m. Mass will be a special Mass of Remembrance. A Candle of Remembrance will be lighted during the Mass.
A cup of tea will be available in the Day Chapel after the Mass of Remembrance on Tuesday night.

Weekday Mass Monday to Friday at 10.00a.m.

A member from the Children’s Liturgy Group will talk at all Masses this weekend.

A meeting of the Children's Liturgy group will take place on Thursday September 16th at 8 p.m. in the Day Chapel.

Next weekend we will be saying goodbye to Sr. Miriam Divilly of the Sisters of St. Clare. The Sisters will be leaving our community. We would like to thank the Sisters and especially Sr. Miriam for her tremendous work in the parish throughout the years. A presentation will be made to Sr. Miriam.

Kelly Matibag who was ordained in June will also be here next weekend to celebrate Mass.

The Order of Malta Cadets for young people between the age of 10 and 16 will meet in the Community Centre on Fridays between 6 and 7p.m. New members very welcome.

Special Collection
We would like to say a special ‘Thank you’ for your generosity at last weekend’s collection in aid of the people of Darfur in Western Sudan. The total amount collected was €7,200.
