New Parish Priest Appointment
From the end of August our parish will receive a new parish priest. His name is Fr. Damien McNeice. He will take up residence in Castleknock parish. Fr. Damien has been appointed parish priest to Castleknock and Laurel Lodge. He has been involved in the liturgical life of the diocese and was master of ceremonies for the Archbishop of Dublin.
As time goes on more and more parishes will be amalgamated. In some parishes, the church will be closed and people will be invited to attend Mass in a neighbouring church. To keep the message and person of Jesus alive, Parish Pastoral Councils will have to shoulder this responsibility. This new Task Force are deliberating such matters and hopefully we will share in the results of their deliberations.
We are happy to say that Fr. Dan Joe, who has served the people of this parish very well for many years, will remain in his present appointment.
Fr. Brendan Quinlan is happy to remain as curate in the parish of Laurel Lodge.
